Arithmetic Workshop

For Students in Grades 4-6th

Get ready for our classes! Before starting our math courses, we highly recommend working through this Arithmetic Workshop. This series of four sessions focus on reviewing basic arithmetic concepts: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers.

This is a great way to have your students ease into the new academic year (or new math program) with confidence and smiles! This is a series of 4 sessions, 60 minutes each, open to all students. There's an optional Math Project (Candy Shop) to complete between sessions if you'd like your student to have additional practice with place value.

BONUS ACTIVITY! Run a Candy Shop (After-Class Activity)

This is a fun math activity packet for students who still need help understanding what numbers really mean, and how we build numbers from counting things up in sets of tens and hundreds. You can work through the entire activity on your own, but if you'd like to do it alongside me, use the videos below.

THIS IS BONUS CONTENT The Candy Shop is entirely optional, and it's in addition to the class content above. We will not be going over this content during class (HINT: that's why we recorded videos walking you through every step of the packet!) so you can use it for homework between sessions. I hope you enjoy it and have fun reviewing place value and handling numbers.
